Fields of Research at ITS DC
The focus of the Research Centre at ITS Dental College is to educate and guide students, researchers, and doctors in the diverse areas of Life Sciences & Metallurgical Studies. The college extends an offer to scholars to expand their horizons through scientific knowledge, innovation, analysis, and vision.
Here is the list of fields where research is provided:
Microbiology: It is the study of organisms that are too small to the visible eyes such as bacteria, viruses, archaea, fungi, algae, protozoa, etc. It is the study of their properties and role in biodegradation, climate change, food, disease and biotechnology.
Genomics: A field of biology that studies the structure, function, evolution, mapping, and editing of genes. This makes it possible to predict, diagnose, and treat diseases more precisely and personally than ever as well as perform research on it.
Pathology: Pathology is a branch of medicine that studies the causes, origins, and characteristics of diseases. This includes the examination of tissues, bodily fluids and various medical tests necessary to diagnose a disease.
Biochemistry: As the word suggests, biochemistry is an amalgamation of biology and chemistry involving the chemical process in and around living organisms. This aids in comprehending the chemical basis for the process of biological molecules occurring between and within living cells.
Hematology: Hematology is the branch of medicine that studies the causes, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of blood-related disorders.
Tissue culture: It is a procedure of biological research that involves transferring bits of tissue from an animal or plant to an artificial environment where they can survive and function. A single cell, a population of cells, or a whole or part of an organ can all be cultured.
Metal & Metallurgy: Metallurgy is a branch of material science and engineering that is concerned with the physical and chemical properties of metals. This includes various metallic elements, their compounds, and alloys.
