Human Anatomy
Aristotle gave the name 'Anatomy' approximately 2300years back. Literal meaning of Anatomy is "to cut & See", that is, to study the structure of human body and its organs in detail. Anatomy is learnt under various subdivisions i.e. gross anatomy, osteology, angiology, mycology, microscopic anatomy or histology, radiographic anatomy, developmental anatomy or embryology, comparative anatomy, etc.
At I.T.S Dental College Human Anatomy department is providing best of knowledge of the subject in theoretical as well as practical aspects as it has highly committed & efficient senior faculty and excellent infrastructure provided by management as well as enthusiastic students participation.
Department has also got facility of BONE BANK. Students are issued bones for 2 days so that they can learn well even after the college hours. Bone Bank presently has 399 bones from all parts of body & we intend to procure more.
Dissection Hall:-
The human body is dissected and the students are taught on the dissected parts. Each batch is given two cadavers for the dissection. The department has 7 cadavers.Department has also got facility of BONE BANK. Students are issued bones for 2 days so that they can learn well even after the college hours. Bone Bank presently has 399 bones from all parts of body & we intend to procure more.
Histology lab:-
The lab provides one microscope to each student. Department has 366 histological slides of very good quality of all types if tissues.
Teaching is done in the form of lectures using all types of aids like black board, overhead projects etc. Histology and dissection is done in respective labs under the supervision of faculty with full participation from students. Osteology and embryology is taught in demonstration & lectures on real bones and models of embryology. Seminars are presented by our students on topics of clinical importance.
